own opinion
Judging by the cover, you will probably first on a light love story, whose happy ending is foreseen after the half of the book can. But Josef Maria studied at all is not so. The first novel by Nicole Joens is no simple romantic comedy, because the story is so profound and moving that the reader is aware of it after a few pages.
The beginning of this story is really brutal. Miriam is pregnant with no money and job and two children in the bitter cold winter on the road and there seems no way out for the three and a half to give. An unbelievable feeling of helplessness the reader when reading the first pages. It made me speechless as the people at Christmas time when we should be really kind and helpful, deal with their fellow men. But so is our present society, always plays a role in the money and everyone is concerned about his own good. The reader itself is suffering with Miriam, whose fate is caused by very sad circumstances and wishes the best for the little family.
The characters are really deep and wide. Their behavior is adapted to the situations and not unfounded. Sun gnaw at Miriam, who simply sees no way out for themselves and their children, self-doubt, that she is doing the right thing if they want to keep the children, but has no money and jobs. Despite that she is a fighter, because she does not, if she would also lie and be contrary to the law. Joe, however, is a lone cowboy who a bad Past that it still hurts and affects his present life. Each of the protagonists has experienced its own perspective on things, and the reader of any time he sees the situation. The individual characters are very dear to my heart because you have to know her so well. Especially nice is that the children behave like children. Since there is dispute between the two, because the little girl cries for a lost doll, and in another situation like the big brother protecting his little sister again.
What bothered me at first something was the Bavarian dialect, which is mainly spoken by Joe. But after a while I do not care anymore noticed. For me, it is now simply part of Joe and reflects its origin.
The relationship between Miriam and Joe unfolds slowly, although Miriam noted early on that it attracts little Joe. And that is certainly not only his male scent, but also his good heart. Joe comes into this story as a savior in greatest need. The reader knows that if Joe does not help the small family, there is no chance for Miriam and the children to a common future. Joe appears as an honest and good-hearted man, and awakens in every female reader the urge to find yourself such a great man. One wonders, but also where these men are in our time?
The end of the book has moved me to tears and cheer can, because it was really dramatic. The roller coaster ride of emotions of the protagonists would appear to be strongest, although there was often an otherwise up and down of emotions. By the end I could not say whether the book out well or badly. The ultimate end is more open but still closes the book with a good feeling. I have followed for some time kept in the hands and the history of thought that is me deeply.
Conclusion
Maria Joseph is looking for a novel that I was very touched. It is an extraordinary story of hopes, dreams, true love and faith in something greater that heats your heart and can reflect on how good it is but a self. This book I can recommend not only in winter but all year round, for the wonderful love story is at the forefront! So, let yourself when you stand in the bookstore, not deterred by this winter cover.
