Under the que [e] r place shortly before the 10th Death of Marcus Omofuma a discussion meeting on anti-racism work place. We will also be there and will identify the brochure for the first time the public. Here, the announcement text:
Marcus Omofuma on 1 May 1999 killed during his forced deportation to Nigeria. He was "fixed" by three strangers with police tape on the seat of the aircraft and gagged - he suffocated. In response to the death of Marcus Omofuma, there were spontaneous demonstrations, months-long vigils in front of the Ministry of Interior and taped mouths of statues and posters on stands throughout the city. The death of Marcus Omofuma is seen as part of a more openly racist climate, not least covered by such legislation and fueled by attacks in the mass media.
10 years have passed since the death of Marcus Omofuma. In recent years, the intensity of inter-related and visible anti-racist work politically weakened. Division, specialization, retreat, the search for new forms and the continuity of individual successful projects shape the political anti-racism in the recent period. Where and how policy is anti-racist work place today? Can and should be the condition of the loose alliance of those who act on the left side of the political spectrum and describe their work as anti-racist overcome? Can and should the occasion be used to collectively become visible again, and to develop common strategic perspectives?
